An evening in November ...

- It's the year 1996. Autumn started, it's the 10th of November, a Sunday. It's the first complete week that I am living in Hannover where I came to to do my community service. I know no-one, except perhaps the colleagues but they 're irrelevant.
I went to a café or better to say - I went to the "Homocenter", a queer institution, café on Sundays in the rooms of the HOME e.V., I came in from outside where it was cold, sit down and ---- see nothing, because of my steamed-up glasses! Somewhere ...at the furthest table in the room someone sat I did not register yet. I ordered a cup of hot chocolate and went back to my seat. It was very crowded. Round the table I sat at almost six persons (me included) were gathered - mark you: the table was round and about one metre in diameter. I am half blind, my glasses still lying on the table to become acclimatized. But I registered that there's over there a person looking constantly at me. I couldn't recognize him but that doesn't matter. I tried to by screwing up my eyes. I couldn't have looked much attractive then. Dunno what Peter thought in that moment. (Did he ever tell me?) For a while we keep it like that - looking at each other although I can't see much at the beginning. It was perhaps 5 p.m.when all of a sudden the young man at the further table got up to go and leave. He went past (I was sitting next to the door). He looked once again at me and smiled. (To be honest I thought in that moment: "well, nice, but not Prince Charming he is.")
He went out.
I stayed.
And I tell you it was less then five no three minutes that the door opened again, he got in again placed himself next to me and said: "I believe I've got to get rid of my shyness."
I thought: "what's that guy talking about?"
I don't know anymore what we were talking about then but I asked him to show me the CINEMAXX - a cinema complex nearly newly build and the first of it's kind in Germany then. So we left the café and went to Steintor where the named cinema was (and is) then went back to the Kröpcke (a central place in Hannover). There was (and still is) a clock on the place (in the center) were we halted and still talked and talked and then he asked me to come with him ... to have a cup of tea ... and I thought: f**k.
Next mornig I had to get up early but we had a cup of coffee together and promised each other to meet again the same evening ... and that we did!

Do you want to know something about Peter's sparetime favourites?
